The Kirchenwirt Restaurant



We start to work at full capacity many hours before the first diner enters our restaurant. In the kitchen, soups are set-up, vegetables are cleaned and trimmed, salad is carefully washed and domestic meat is gently braised. In the restaurant, the chairs are placed in position and the tables lovingly set.

During the summer, this activity is extended to the garden restaurant, under the critical gaze of the landlord. It is not uncommon for the tables to have to be set and then cleared several times in the course of the morning because the sky north east of Graz darkens, heralding a possible thunderstorm. Our proximity to the Basilica unfortunately provides us with no remedy for this.

We cook according to the rhythm of the seasons and, when possible, only using products from the surrounding region. Great attention is paid to the freshness of the meat, fish and vegetables we use. The other ingredients are also only of the finest quality.
